Frontline Plus for dogs is a topical medicine to prevent flea and tick infestation in dogs. Frontline Plus is effective in killing adult fleas that feast on dogs within twelve hours as well as ticks and lice within forty-eight hours after each application.
Frontline Plus for dogs is recommended for dogs and even puppies that are eight weeks of age and older to keep them safe from flea and tick infestation. It is an over-the-counter topical solution that comes in packs of 3 doses that will last for 3 months with each application that provides protection for your pet from fleas, ticks and chewing lice for one full month.
The topical medicine is safe to use as it is waterproof and the pet may be bathed or may be allowed to swim but only after 24 hours from application. It also helps control sarcoptic mange infections in dogs.

Proper way to use Frontline Plus for dogs
Use Frontline Plus for dogs topical solution that contains 9.8% fipronil and 8.8% S-methoprene for dogs and puppies that are already 8 weeks or older. The availability of the medicine comes in 0.67-ml applicators for dogs and puppies up to 22 lbs; 1.34 ml for 23-44-lb dogs; 2.68 ml for 45-88-lb dogs; and 4.02 ml for 89-132-lb dogs.
To apply Frontline Plus for dogs, the applicator tip should be placed between the shoulder blades, through the dog’s hair to the skin level. For maximum potency, the pet must not be allowed to swim or be bathed within 24 hours to allow the solution to fully dry. Further, only one applicator per treatment should be made and the application should not be repeated within the month or within 30 days.
Side effects of Frontline Plus for dogs
The pet may show some signs of irritation at the body part where the application of Frontline Plus for dogs was made. The noted signs are temporary irritation thus, if it persists or becomes severe, it will be best if the veterinarian is consulted immediately to avoid any inconvenience to the pet.
